Thomson is a Virginia native and received his Associates Degree in Culinary Arts from Johnson and Wales University and has worked at restaurants throughout Charleston, SC inlcuding 82 Queen and McCrady's where he worked under celebrated Chef Michael Kramer. Most recently Thomson worked as Sous Chef under Chef Scott Crawford at the renowned Dining Room at Woodland's Resort and Inn in Summerville, SC.

Thomson originally met Greene while working at 82 Queen, and had the opportunity to work with him again at both McCrady's and Woodland's. The two developed a chemistry and friendship both inside and outside of the workplace so it seemed only natural that the two combine talents in making Devereaux's a success.
