Steven Greene, Executive Chef and Partner of Devereaux’s Restaurant in downtown Greenville, SC, has been invited to participate the St. Michaels Food and Wine Festival in St. Michaels, Maryland.
The event is in its fifth year and will be held April 26th – April 29th on the grounds of the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum. The festival features educational food and wine programs, chef’s demonstrations, sampling opportunities and 13 guest-chef hosted wine dinners. A sample of this year’s participants include Jeffrey Buben, Owner/Chef, Vidalia and Bistro Bis in Washington, D.C.; John Doherty, Executive Chef, The Waldorf Astoria in New York City; Roberto Donna, Chef, Galileo Restaurant in Washington, DC; Jim Bernau, Founder/President, Willamette Valley Vineyard; and Kristina Sutter, Master of Whisky for Johnnie Walker & the Diageo whisky brands.
Last year’s festival attracted more than 2,000 food and wine enthusiasts from up and down the Eastern Seaboard.
Chef Greene will be working with Jim Trand, Chef/Owner, Shore Restaurant & Lounge at The St. Michaels Harbour Inn, Marina & Spa on Saturday, April 28. The theme of the menu for the evening’s wine dinner will be “Low Country Cooking on the Chesapeake”.
“It’s an honor to be invited to participate,” says Steven Greene, Executive Chef and Partner, Devereaux’s. “Anytime I can interact with other chefs who take the dining experience as seriously as we do, it’s a great time. Plus, it’s a good opportunity to meet and talk to people in other regions about what we’re doing in Greenville – that we’ve got a lot going on from a culinary and dining standpoint.”
